Izzy Botos (BBA)
My name is Izzy Botos and I am the Club Representative for Blazing Barracudas (BBA). I became a rep my sophomore year of high school at the request of our Athletic Director. I am now a junior at Hathaway Brown and I am so glad I am able to have this experience. I have been swimming for almost ten years. I have a genuine love for the sport and my team.
Ashtyn Rickel (CCST)
Hi my name is Ashtyn Rickel and I am going to be a freshman at Colonel Crawford High School starting this fall. My USA swim club is CCST, which swims at my school. I swam for our school's Junior High swim team the past two years, and I currently swim for our summer swim team league along with our USA club team. I am excited to swim for our High School swim team this year! I became my team rep because my coach picked me, and I love representing our USA team. I have been swimming since I was five years old. Some accomplishments I have achieved over my years of swimming include qualifying four times for YMCA zones, qualifying twice for USA Central Zones and Mid-States, and breaking records for all the different teams that I have swam on. Some things that I like to do outside of the pool include Academic Challenge, reading, spending time on my boat, and spending lots of time with my family and friends.
Keith Turnbull (CFYN):
My name is Keith Turnbull, athlete rep for the CFYN Tigersharks. I've been swimming for CFYN for the past 11 years, and throughout my time here I've improved greatly as a swimmer and a person. I was given the club rep position for my leadership abilities and undying passion for the sport of swimming.
Maria Montisano (CWW):
Hi my name is Maria Montisano and I am a part of the Copley Water Warriors Club Team. I have been a part of this program for the past 9 years. I attend Copley Highschool and will be a senior. I currently swim and play lacrosse for them. I was chosen to be a rep because I want to give back to my team and community and want to help build the program up. I have won many awards not just in swimming, but in lacrosse too. My biggest achievement this year was winning the Greater Akron High School Sports Award for swimming. I also won the Indian award and First Team Suburban League the past three years in swimming and this past year in lacrosse. I’ve also placed at states the past two years and hope to continue my swimming career in college.
Molly Rogers (FAST)
Hi! I’m Molly Rogers and I am the club rep for Firestone Akron Swim Team. I am a senior at Firestone High School and have committed to swim at the University of Connecticut. I have been swimming for FAST and in Lake Erie since I was six years old and was super excited when I got the opportunity to represent my team and contribute to this amazing swim community. My favorite part about being a club rep is being involved with all of the volunteer initiatives that we do. I love seeing all of the teams come together to help our Lake Erie community outside of the pool.
Keely Sneek (GWA):
Hi, I’m Keeley Sneek! I’m the club rep for Great Wave Aquatics. I started swimming when I was 8 years old for Chardon Sharks. I’m now a junior swimming for Chardon High School and Great Waves. I became a club rep because I wanted to help lead, learn, and be apart of the swim community!
Olivia Elgin (GYB):
My name is Olivia Elgin and I will be a junior this upcoming school year at Green High School.I swim for GHS and am a 2-year Varsity letter winner.In the spring and summer, I swim for GYB~ the Green Family YMCA Barracudas. I am happy to be part of the Lake Erie Athletes Committee and represent team GYB. I started swimming competitively at the age of 7 and my favorite stroke is breaststroke. Last school year, I qualified and placed at the Division 1 State meet in both the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke. I was also a part of the Green High School 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay that qualified for the state meet as well. I earned my first ever Futures Cuts in both state swims and also qualified for the YMCA Zone meet and the YMCA Nationals meet. I hope to swim in college and plan on majoring in criminal justice.
Vittorio Cappabianca (HEAT):
Hi Lake Erie, my name is Vittorio Cappabianca and I swim for Hudson Explorers Aquatic Team. I am a 2019 Central Zone Select Camp Participant and a 2-time State Qualifier. I have been the HEAT Club Rep for 1 year and enjoy having this opportunity to give back to this community!
Tori Culotta (LESD):
Hi Lake Erie, my name is Tori Culotta. I am a rising senior at Hawken School and I also swim for the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins. I am a member of the Athletes Executive committee, and I also serve on the Events and Operations Committee. Within these committees, I help to organize events and activities that help unite the Lake Erie Swimming community, and I serve as one of the athlete voices in the LSC. Serving on the AEC has been so much fun, and I can’t wait to plan more activities and events to help educate and connect Lake Erie Swimming!
Isaac Chernisky (LSSC)
Hi Lake Erie! My name is Isaac Chernisky and I am the club representative for Lake Shore Swim Club. I am 15 years old and am a sophomore at St. Ignatius High School. When not swimming for SIHS for high school season, I swim for Lake Shore Swim Club during club season. Along with being a club representative, I am on the Athletes Executive Committee, Age Group Development Committee and the AEC Online Engagement Subcommittee! I am excited to make Lake Erie Swimming more productive and memorable, and also to make swimming a better sport, but more importantly, to be a good example to others and share the love of Jesus.
Aiden Carter (LRST)
Hi, my name is Aidan Carter and I am the Athlete Representative for LRST. I was chosen to be my teams rep. because of my time on the team, my swimming abilities, and my dedication to my team and the sport. Some of my proudest swimming accomplishments don’t come from club, but from high school swimming. This year at the High School D2 State Championship meet I was on two relays that made podium: the 400 Free Relay (3rd) and the 200 Medley Relay (5th). I also got on podium in my two individual events: the 50 and 100 freestyle- I got 8th place in both of them. I have also been coaching a rec team in the summer for the past two years. I feel that swimming is one of the most important skills out there and I think that everyone should learn how to at some point.
Morgan Vogel (MRST):
My name is Morgan Vogel, I swim for the Medina Makos (MRST). I love being my team’s representative, because I love being involved as much as I can in the swim community. I have been swimming for 13 years and counting. Any difference I can make to help better swimming for all of the old and new swimmers is one of the best things about being club rep. In the pool I have accomplished breaking 2 of my high schools records, as well as qualifying for zones, midstates, and Speedo sectionals. Outside of swimming I also lifeguard and teach swim lessons! I am apart of HUDDLE at my school. I am involved with Speedo as an ambassador as well!
Janine Murphy (MYG)
My name is Janine Murphy I am an upcoming senior to Jackson high-school, my club team is the Massillon gators. I chose to be a rep because the Lake Erie committee has done so much for me and many other swimmers throughout my swimming career and I wanted to give back. This past year I placed 8th in the 100 back at states and 15th in the 100 free. This past post season was very fun and exciting and I’m looking forward to my senior postseason. When I’m not swimming I enjoy reading or creating things. Swimming has opened many opportunities for me and I am very grateful that I get to be apart of such an amazing community every day with people who are just has committed and driven with the sport as I am.
Madison Murphy (PS):
Hi, my name is Madison Murphy and I am the rep for Penguin Swimming! I chose to be a rep because I have been swimming since the age of 2 and want to become more involved with Lake Erie! I also play golf and have been since I learned to walk! I am involved in many clubs in school, set 5 school swim records this season, and made second team all Northeast Ohio for golf! I’m looking forward to this position and meeting new people along the way!
Evan Kemp (PWRS):
Hello. My name is Evan Kemp and I am the club team representative for the Peninsula Wave Riders (PWRS). I am 17 years old and live in the town of North East, Pennsylvania. I am an active member of our Erie-based club team and a leader in and out of the pool. One of my biggest accomplishments in the pool was achieving my first AAA and Zones cut in the 100m fly when I was 14. Outside of the pool I like to run, play board games and hangout with my swim friends. I look forward to all of our upcoming and future LE meets/events, and hope to see you guys there!
Grace Bodrock (RYD)
Hi Lake Erie, my name is Grace Bodrock and I’ve been swimming for Ridgeville YMCA Dolphins since I was 5 years old. Now that I’m in high school I took the opportunity of being an athlete representative to give back to a program that has shaped me into the swimmer and person I am today.
Abbey Kutchel (SWIM):
Hello! My name is Abbey Kutchel. I am 16 years old and attend Strongsville High School. I have been swimming for 11 years now and swim for Swim United. I also swim for my school. My main events is the 200 IM and 100 breastroke. I live with my mom and dad, and also have one sister and a yellow lab named Brutus! Swimming is not only just a sport of mine, but it is also my passion. I truly cherish everyone that is apart of the swimming community. As a club representative, I take pride in our Lake Erie Swimming Program and help to be a leader to inspire every athlete of our Lake Erie community. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the Lake Erie Swimming Program.
Julia Basista (YYN):
Hi my name is Julia Basista and I am the representative for the Youngstown Neptune’s swim team!! I became a Lake Erie rep to become more involved and have a say as a swimmer!! I am a student athlete and balance strong academics along with swimming!! I also participate in band and am a majorette and singer!! My favorite swim events are 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 IM!! I am so excited to be a Lake Erie Swim Rep!!
Granthem Brown (VSC):
I am currently a Junior at Huron High School. I am a two year varsity member of the Huron Swim and Dive Team. I currently hold the record in the 500 free. I have been swimming for Vacationland Swim Club since 2014. When I am not in the pool you will find me on my school's Golf and Cross Country teams. I enjoy working hard and playing harder. In the summer I stay busy with my jobs as a landscaper crew member and detailing and washing boats. I truly love living on Lake Erie and spending time with my friends on the beach and in the water, weather swimming or boating.
